Have you ever considered living in Jamaica?

Expat life in Jamaica is an amazing experience. Escaping the cold, leaving the stress of fast-paced life behind and even finding a healthier way of living makes all of the hassle worth it. This blog chronicles my own journey into “becoming Jamaican.” I’d love to share my experiences and hard-learned insights with you as I integrate into Jamaican life and culture.

My name is Valerie.  I’ve raised my kids (all ten of them) and recently retired after 22 years of raising goats and being a professional goat cheese maker.

I have lived, traveled and volunteered all over the world but have come to love Jamaica as if it were my birthplace.

My heart is big and I spend a lot of my energy trying to help people recognize their potential, especially those who are trying to make the world a better place. I have made many incredible friends along that path.

I love to master new skills and stretch my mind, leading me to many new experiences.

I could choose to live just about anywhere and I’m moving to Jamaica.  If this leaves you scratching your head, rest assured that you aren’t alone. My dermatologist isn’t too happy about it either.

There’s a lot more here than beaches, reggae and cold beer.  Rich in culture, history, and some of the most friendly people on earth, chances are, Jamaica will win your heart like it has mine.
